When I realized that I had a real knack for cooking and catering events, I decided to sit down and write a plan to open my own business. I took a couple of classes at the community college and realized that there were many state regulations I’d have to adhere to, especially with regard to food safety and sanitation. So one of the first things I started doing research on was portable sinks. I knew that if I were going to specialize in catering location events, such as picnics, post-ball game barbecues and other types of outdoor celebrations, I’d need a portable sink to ensure we could follow proper procedures. Although portable sinks may be a bit pricey, they are well worth the investment, since you now can concentrate on the most important part of the creative process, which is cooking and serving the food. All of my employees must cover their hair and wear sanitized uniforms. Having the ability to have hot and cold running water to wash your hands and clean serving utensils is a Godsend. I’ve been running my business for almost two years now, and I’ve never been in violation of any of our state food safety or sanitation regulations, either.

These articles can range from diapers and diaper wipes, to talcum powder and lotions. Maybe even a small toy, to distract wiggling wee ones who aren’t so fond of diaper changing time. Recently a new concept is emerging; round diaper changing tables. These too are roughly waist level, preventing strain on the care givers back and have drawers, shelves or a combination for items often needed during changing time. It offers the same safety and comfort features of a pad, strap and railing. The two most interesting breakthroughs with the round diaper changing stations are an additional safety feature and a use after the child has progressed out of diapers. Its wide circumference over the standard slim, rectangular area is what gives this diaper changing stations its added safety feature. The roundness itself gives more room for the baby to squirm without coming to an edge and possibly falling off. Its round, chic slim design fits into nearly any decor and any part of a room. When the last diaper has been changed, there is no need to throw out the station, just remove the pad and utilize it as a television or night stand in any room it’s needed! There is no denying a diaper changing station is essential when working with youngsters. From rectangular to round, wooden or metal, shelves or drawers for storage, you have many options to choose from. Just remember to make sure it’s at a comfortable working height and is put together sturdily to support the weight of a growing infant and toddler, and will stand up to the wear and tear that comes along with the amount of use it will be put through in a daycare setting.
